Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate the observation of the solidification and fusion phenomena of latent heat accumulating material by a method wherein two heat transmission devices, the one end of each of which is inserted in a transparent leaktight vessel sealed up with the latent heat accumulating material therewithin and the other end of each of which is exposed so as to bring into contact with a Peltier element, are combined with each other as a pair. CONSTITUTION:The one end of each of the heat transmission devices 3a and 3b such as heat pipes or the like is immersed in the respective latent heat accumulating materials 2a and 2b such as hexahydrated calcium chloride or the like sealed in the leaktight vessels 1a and 1b respectively and the other end of each of the devices 3a and 3b is exposed. The exposed ends are contactingly fixed with heat transmission blocks 4a and 4b respectively. The Peltier elements 5, the surfaces at one side of which are brought into contact with each other so as to make a pair, are also contactingly fixed with the heat transmission blocks 4a and 4b and connected through a current change-over device 6 to a power source 7.
