Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of housing of an electricity-generating element and make a battery compact, by molding plastic in the opening between the peripheral parts of a pair of terminal plates between which the stratified electricity-generating element is interposed and by also molding the plastic on the peripheral edges of the terminal plates and setting the plastic. CONSTITUTION:A stratified electricity-generating element 3 is held between a pair of terminal plates 1, 2 cut out in a prescribed shape. Plastic 5, which can be set by irradiation of electron beam, is molded in the opening between the peripheral parts 1a, 2a of the terminal plates 1, 2 and on the edges 1b, 2b of the peripheral parts. The plastic 5 is then set by the irradiation of electron beam so that sealing is effected between the terminal plates 1, 2. A substance containing polyfunctional acrylate as the main constituent, a maleic anhydride of polyester modified with drying oil, a modified urethane substance or the like is used as the plastic 5.
