Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively utilize sensible heat and reaction heat produced in moisture removing reaction and to save energy, by blowing quicklime powder into hot waste gas with containing moisture to remove the water, and circulating the hot waste gas.
CONSTITUTION: Hot air is blown against sludge in a drying furnace 2 to dry the sludge, in treating the sludge. Finely powdered quicklime 11 is blown into hot waste gas, exhausted from the furnace 2, from a venturi shaped contracted part 10 by means of a powder pump. Moisture, contained in the hot waste gas, is dehydrated by the quicklime powder 11, and reaction heat produced in dehydrating reaction is given to the gas at the same time. Hot waste gas, after separating unreacted quicklime and slaked lime which is a reacted product, etc. by means of a bag filter 13, is mixed with combustion gas produced by burning kerosene with a burner 5, and is sent to the furnace 2 again to utilize its sensible heat.
