Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent an engine against overheating when a mechanism to command the control of a fixed timing control for regulating the ignition timing is remained to be on during running by releasing the mechanism automatically for making the optimum ignition timing control in accordance with the operational state of the engine. CONSTITUTION:Data N, V, and Q respectively of a rotational speed, a car speed, and a suction amount are inputted into a CPU40 from latches 22, 28, and an A/D converter 30 on every impress of the first angle signal from an angle sensor 10. Then, a switch 34 is closed to decide whether an ignition timing regulating specific signal (IS signal) is impressed or not, and after the decision of the IS signal is obtained, whether the present rotational speed N is smaller than the set value No or not is decided. When N<No, whether the present car speed V is smaller than the set value Vo or not is subsequently decided. When V>=V0,the computing step proceeds to the optimum ignition timing. Meanwhile, when V<Vo, an ignition mechanism 58 is controlled to equalize the ignition timing with a fixed advance value previously fixed.
