Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently dewater highly water-retaining sludgy substance, by immersing press-formed plates of fine-grained calcium silicate hydrate in the highly water-retaining sludgy substance to absorb water retained in the sludge, and then stripping the sludgy substance from the surface of the formed plates.
CONSTITUTION: Highly water-retaining sludgy substance 21 is reserved in a treating vessel 22, and press-formed plates 1 of fine-grained calcium silicate hydrate are immersed in the sludgy substance, so that retained water is absorbed through filter cloths 4 into the formed plates 1 and that the resultant low water- retaining sludgy substance 21' turns into a state adherent to the surface of the formed plates 1 through the filter cloths 4. Thereafter, a wire 9 on a hood 6 is driven to hang up roller means 5, so that the dewatered low water-retaining sludgy substance 21' is stripped from the surfaces of the formed plates 1. The formed bodies 1 are then fixed to the formed plate unit 23 of a dehydrator, and air passing through a tunnel 26 flows between the adjacent formed plates of each formed plate unit 23 to dry each formed plate 1.
