Abstract
PURPOSE: A preventing agent and a remedy for thrombosis with low toxicity without hemolytic action, containing ginsenoside-Ro known to be contained in the rhizome of Panax ginseng as an active constituent.
CONSTITUTION: A preventing agent and remedy for thrombosis containing ginsenoside -Ro of the formula as an active constituent. The compound of the formula exhibits powerful antithrombin action and is useful as a preventing agent for the thrombosis, and further accelerates the activating action of plasminogen of urokinase at a low concentration, promotes the dissolution of coagulated blood and is useful as a remedy for thrombosis. The agent is formulated into a powder, tablet, injection, etc. for use. The daily dose thereof is about 10W 1,000mg for an adult. The compound of the formula is prepared by extracting the whole herb or the rhizome of Panax ginseng or by the synthesis.
