Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled synthetic resin powder suitable for use in adhesives, paints, etc., by a method wherein a dispersion of a vinyl copolymer having a minimum film-forming temperature within a specified range and an anticaking agent are separately sprayed and mixed with each other in a sprayed state, and the mixture is dried.
CONSTITUTION: A monoethylenic monomer (e.g. ethylene or vinyl acetate) is subjected to an emulsion polymn. in the presence of 0.02W1wt% emulsifying agent such as anionic surfactant, to obtain an aq. dispersion of a copolymer A having a minimum film-forming temp. of lower than 10°C. To the dispersion is added a monoethylenic monomer mixture B which can form an aq. dispersion of a copolymer having a minimum film-forming temp. of higher than 10°C. The mixture is subjected to an emulsion polymn. to prepare a dispersion of a copolymer having a minimum film-forming temp. of 0W10°C. Then this dispersion and 2W20wt% (based on the amount of said dispersion) anticaking agent having a particle size of 0.01W0.5μ, are separately sprayed and mixed with each other in a sprayed state. The mixture is dried to obtain the titled powder.
