Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve heat resistance without deteriorating any characteristics which an ABS resin originally possesses, by introducing a monomer having a polar group in the title compsn. obtd. by mixing a copolymer contg. maleimide or an N-aryl-substd. derivative thereof with a graft copolymer obtd. from a rubber component.
CONSTITUTION: A compsn. consists of 10W90pts.wt. copolymer composed of an arom. vinyl compd. (A) such as styrene, maleimide and/or an N-aryl-substd. derivative (B) such as N-phenylmaleimide, (meth)acrylonitrile (C) and a (meth)acrylate ester monomer (D) such as methyl methacrylate, and 90W10pts.wt. graft copolymer obtd. by grafting the monomers of the above components A and C and/or D onto a copolymer contg. at least 80wt% (poly)butadiene. Heat resistance can be improved by introducig an arom. vinyl compd. and a monomer having a nitrile group and/or an ester group, i.e. a monomer having a polar group into the compsn.
