Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the shooting of the cause of a malfunction by interposing an insulator at a coupling which connects the rotating shafts of two rotary machines, and measuring the groung voltages of both shafts, thereby separately detecting the abnormal voltages of both shafts. CONSTITUTION:An insulator 12 is interposed at a coupling which connects the rotating shaft 10 of a turbine 2 the rotor shaft 20 of a generator 3, and the shaft 10 is electrically separated from the shaft 20. Ground voltage measuring paths are provided at both shafts, and the abnormal shaft voltages are monitored with voltmeters 13. In this manner, the occurrence of malfunctions can be individually detected, and the shooting of the cause of the malfunctions can be facilitated.
