Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a device of a high transmission efficiency for which cable laying and terminal extension easy, by providing an optical bundle fiber bus having mixers in places between a control place and places to be controlled and leading out terminals for transmission and receiving, the number of which corresponds to the number of cable conductors, in accordance with the length from the control place. CONSTITUTION:An optical bundle fiber bus 3 is connected between a control place 1 and places 2a-2c... to be controlled. The bus 3 is formed by bundling plural optical fibers, and a light polarizer 8 is provided in the connection part to the control place 1, and mixers 9 are provided in places. The control place 1 is provided with light emitting elements 4 and photodetectors 5 different in wavelength. Optical fibers in the side of mixers 9 which is more distant from the control place 1 are disconnected to provide terminals 10a-10c... for optical signal transmission and terminals 11a-11c... for receiving, and light emitting elements 6a-6b... and photodetectors 7a-7c... are connected to them. The number of optical fibers for these terminals is increased in accordance with the attenuation quantity of the optical signal. The mixer 9 is formed by melt-fixing a glass bar 9a between optical bundle fibers 3a and 3b by heat.
