Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve a switching power supply with small size and high performance through a simple constitution, by using a charge preparatorily charged to a small size and large capacitance of capacitor as a starting power supply, in a switching power supply having a self-generating auxiliary power supply. CONSTITUTION:A capacitor 4 is charged with an input voltage between input terminals 1a and 1b, but a transistor 15 is not operated because no 2nd output of a transformer 8 is presented. When switches 7a and 7b are turned on, the charge in the capacitor 4 gives a bias to a control circuit 19 and a converter is operative. Then, the power supply circuit keeps normal operation. When the output voltage of the auxiliary power supply section is taken greater than a clamp voltage of a diode 3, the capacitor 4 can always be charged. In this case, even if the switches 7a and 7b are turned off, the power supply circuit keeps the operation, and the operation control of this power supply circuit can be made by the gate switching of a driving circuit 18.
