Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of noise at a discharging time, by a method wherein a tilting angle of a gate inclining toward the upstream side is set, taking a depth and a discharging amount into considerations, an overflowing water is caused to flow along a skin plate surface, and to flow at a narrow inflow angle.
CONSTITUTION: A gate 1 is set at a given angle in a manner to tilt toward an upstream side, and a water level is kept constant by allowing an upstream water to overflow. In case a discharge amount needs to increase resulting from the increase in the upstream water amount, the gate 1 is inclined twoward the upstream side centering around a lower fixture part 4 acting as a fulcrum to reduce an inclining angle, and is set at an appropriate angle so that an overflow current can sufficiently flow along a gate skin plate surface 7. This permits the smooth flow of the overflowing water to the downstream side.
