Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a protable TV camera by using a liquid-crystal display body as the viewfinder display element of the TV camera. CONSTITUTION:Light from a subject passes through a zoom lens system 501 and an image pickup tube 502 to form an image on the tube surface of said tube 502, and the image is converted into an electric signal. A signal Y obtained from a matrix circuit part 504 is led to a liquid-crystal display body 524 through a nonlinear correcting circuit 515 and a buffer amplifier 516. The circuit 515 corrects the temperature characteristics of liquid crystal together. A shift register driving the display body 524 is driven by a signal generated by a synchronous generating circuit 508. An image displayed on the display body 524 is expanded through a lens system 517 to be formed at clear view distance. Further, the display body 524 is illuminated through a light source 518 and a lens system 519 to obtain an invariably clear display image.
