Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn., having excellent resistance to wear and boiling water, adhereability, etc. and giving a paint haing a long pot life, containing a hydrolyzate of an epoxy group-contg. silicone compd., a hydrolyzate of an organosilicon compd., colloidal silica and a curing catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: A coating compsn. contains 100pts.wt. (on a solid basis in terms of compd. of formula II) hydrolyzate of an epoxy group-contg. silicon compd. (A) having the formulaI(wherein R1 is an epoxy group-contg. org. group; R2 is H, a 1W6C hydrocarbon group, vinyl; R3 is a 1W5C hydrocarbon group, alkoxyalkyl; a is 1W3, b is 0W2, a+b≤3). 56W550pts.wt. (on a solid basis in terms of compd. of formula IV) hydrolyzate of an organosilicon compd. (B) having the formula III (wherein R4 is 1W6C hydrocarbon group, vinyl, amino; R5 is a 1W5C hydrocarbon group, alkoxyl; C is 0W3), 4W334pts.wt. (in terms of solid SiO2) colloidal silica (c), and a curing catalyst (D), with the proviso that the sum of components B and C is 567pts.wt. or below. These can be obtd. a paint having excellent resistance to wear, boiling water and weather and adhereability, and a long pot life.
