Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase a silencing effect by separating an exhaust gas by means of a vacant tube on the periphery of which a spiral partition plate is fit thereby causing an interference action. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine separately passes from a pipe 21 through both an interior pass 27 of a vacant tube 23 inside a silencer 24 and a spiral pass 28 of a spiral partition plate 26 on the periphery of the tube and is released into open air from an outlet pipe 22. As the exhaust gas flow directly running in the vacant tube and the other flow passing through the spiral pass have different travelling lengths, a noise can be effectively suppressed due to the respective interferences of the exhaust gasses.
