Abstract
PURPOSE: To modify the degree and timing of opening and closing of ports, by interlocking a port control member with a throttle valve and placing the control member between the outside of a cylinder liner and the inside of a cylinder block so that the control member can be displaced.
CONSTITUTION: An intermediate cylinder 9 is rotatably provided between the outside of a cylinder liner 2 and the inside of a cylinder block 1. The intermediate cylinder 9 is interlocked with the throttle valve 13 of a carburetor 12 through a lever 10 and a link mechanism 11. Since the open area of an intake port 3 and an exhaust port 4 is reduced in slow operation, the blowing of the mixture back to an intake pipe and the blowing of the mixture through to an exhaust pipe are prevented to reduce fuel consumption. Because the opening of the exhaust port 4 is delayed, output is heightened.
