Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the thermal efficiency of a pipe turbine and minimize its fuel consumption by forming a portion of a circular-shaped air duct into a wave-shaped configurations to provide proper rotation speeds for the turbine and by installing a wave-shaped swirling air duct in a pipe compressor.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel gas is alternately fed into combustion chambers 8 and 8' when used as a gas turbine. Combustion gas and compressed air are alternately ejected from nozzles 9 and 9' through a circular-shaped air duct a portion of which is modified into a wave-shaped air duct so that compressibility may be obtained. The compressibility thus obtained produces a suitable rotation power which serves as a power source. The compressed air recovers heat by cooling the superheated air duct. High speed gas from the nozzle 9 proceeds along expansion plates 4, 5 and 6 where the gas is fully expanded and discharged from a hollow part 14 of a rotation shaft into a flue 15. In a wave-shaped pipe compressor 16, air enters from a hollow part 17 of the shaft and is compressed by a centrifugal action produced by a wave-shaped spiral air duct which is thick in radius directions. The device serves to increase the thermal efficiency and minimize the fuel consumption of a steam turbine, gas turbine and wave-shaped pipe compressor.
