Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress temperature rise of a magnetic fluid, to keep an excellent lubricating capacity and to accomplish high speed lubrication in a lubrication construction in which the magnetic fluid is used as a lubricant by a method wherein structurally magnetic fluid can be forced to be supplied and circulated by revolution of an axle.
CONSTITUTION: In the axle bearing structure of a ultra-high-speed electric train, a ringed solid magnet 18 is equipped in an intermediate void of a double row bearing. Through lines 21 of magnetic force radiated from this magnet 18, smooth lubrication is performed by suppressing the magnetic fluid 15 as a lubricant to a turning body surface 16 such as a double row cylindrical roller bearing, a ball bearing 2. At this time, a suction pipe 22 having a cooling fin 23 is connected with a plug hole installed in an oil sump 13 and the magnetic fluid 15 in the oil sump 13 is sucked by the operation of a liquid supply pump 24 through the pipe 24, a filter 25, and sent under pressure on to the turning body surface 16 through a passage 26, radial passages 27, etc. installed in the axle 3. Further, the pump 24 is constructed to supply liquid automatically by the rotation of the axle 3.
