Abstract

PURPOSE:To hydrotreat a mineral oil efficiently while maintaining the coking level at a specific value or less, by treating a fine particle catalyst in which a carbonaceous material is deposited by hydrotreating under specific conditions to eliminate the carbonaceous material, and circulating and using the regenerated catalyst through the first-stage treatment. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst consisting of a fine particle of particle size 200mu or less is added to a feedstock oil, fed to a reactor 1 with hydrogen and then hydrotreated under conditions of hydrogen partial pressure 10-350kg/cm<2> and 350-500 deg.C. The treated oil is then separated by a gas-liquid separator 2, and the gaseous product is separated by a circulating gas treating apparatus 3 to separate H2S and 1-2C gases. H2 is mixed with fresh H2 from a line 21. On the other hand, a liquid product is treated in the second reactor 4 packed with a hydrotreating catalyst under a hydrogen pressure not lower than the first stage, preferably 10kg/cm<2> or more higher than that to eliminate a carbonaceous material. The regenerated catalyst is then circulated through the first hydrotreating stage.
