Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide at low cost the titled plate blank excellent in durability to printing and capable of providing a favorable original plate and printings by a method wherein paper prepared from a pulp slurry added with a specified amount of water-soluble modified polyamide resin is used as a supporting member, and a photographic printing layer or the like is provided on the surface of the supporting member.
CONSTITUTION: To the pulp slurry beaten to a freeness of 300W500cc is added 0.5W3wt% (bone dry weight) of the water-soluble modified polyamide resin (which is prepared by modifying a polyamide resin with epichlorohydrin or the like to make the resin soluble in water), and paper is prepared from the admixture while maintaining the admixture in a pH range of 5.5W7.5. The thus prepared paper is used as the supporting member 1. The photographic printing layer or a photosensitive layer 2 is provided on the surface of the supporting member 1, with or without a precoat layer 4 therebetween, and a back-coat layer 3 is provided as required on the back surface of the member 1 to obtain the objective plate blank.
