Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the moisture-retaining effect of the center flavor liquid in the titled chewing gum, by using a flavor liquid containing reduced maltose syrup or reduced starch hydrolyzate as the center liquid of a sugarless chewing gum.
CONSTITUTION: In a sugarless chewing gum containing center liquid composed of a sugarless chewing gum shell and center flavor liquir contained in the cavity of the shell, the flavor liquid is incorporated with a reduced meltose syrup or a reduced starch hydrolyzate and if necessary a monosaccharide alcohol. The shell of the sugarless chewing gum surrounding the center flavor liquid is pref. also added with the reduced maltose syrup or the reduced starch hydrolyzate for the further improvement in the moisture retainability. The amounts of the reduced maltose syrup and the reduced starch hydrolyzate to be added to the center liquid are pref. 40W 81pts.wt. and 38W77pts.wt. as solid per 100pts.wt. of the center flavor liquid, respectively.
