Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture flanged rings with no wrinkless around flanges and no scraps in raw material, by the method, wherein metal material of a tape form is used as raw material, and formed into a ring first, then formed into a flanged ring by the press works.
CONSTITUTION: Both ends of a tape metal sheet cut in a specified length are lapped over each other, applied with pressure welding, and ground on outside and inside surfaces of jointed part so as to have the same thickness. A ring 2 thus formed in inserted to a lower die 3 and applied pressure by downward movement of an upper die 4. Thereof, the ring 2 is guided with an arc-shaped inner wall 4a of the upper die 4 and is subject to pressure squeezing between the lower die 3, formed into a ring having a bended cross section 5.
