Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable relatively-simple quick-response regulation of a control lead angle, by combining a zero point detector for the terminal voltage of an electric motor, a commutation end point detector for its armature current, a generator for pulses of frequency proportional to the revolution speed and a pulse counter with one another. CONSTITUTION:A lead angle control signal is produced from the outputs of a voltage zero point detector 6, a commutation end point detector 7 and a pulse oscillator 8 by a pulse counter in a control signal generator 9. The pulse counter stops counting for the period from a commutation end point to the zero point of a following motor induced voltage. One of the outputs of a position detector 4 and the control signal generator 9 is selected by a signal changeover unit 10. When a signal showing a following ignition time point comes before the coming of a commutation end point signal, a commutation failure detector 13 produces a commutation failure signal from the outputs of the commutation end point detector 7 and the control signal generator 9 to stop the output of the signal changeover unit 10.
