Abstract

PURPOSE:To carry out maintenance and check without interrupting the use of a tank and also to obtain a level measurement at high precision by providing a level measuring balance tube with an ultrasonic wave transmitter/receiver mounted on the bottom detachably on the tank through a valve. CONSTITUTION:With levels of a tank 13 and liquid 14 in a balance tube 15 kept identical by opening instrument valves 16, 17 full, an ultrasonic wave transmitter/ receiver 19 having received a signal 1MHz or so from an oscillator 17 through an amplifier 18 transmits an ultrasonic wave 20 toward the surface of the liquid and receives the reflected wave 21.
