Abstract
PURPOSE: To reproduce and impart characteristics of color tone such as the gloss possessed in a natural veneer by applying a resin paint on an artificial veneer laminated to a base board so as to impart thickness irregularities and coating a stain thereon uniformly.
CONSTITUTION: An artificial veneer 2 is laminated to a base board and after the surface thereof is polished, subjected to the grain coloring. Subsequently, a resin paint 4 is partially coated along wood grains on a surface of the artificial veneer 2 by a grooved roll 3 or a brush and thereafter, the treated surface is dried and cured. Moreover, a resin paint is coated thereon uniformly to form a coating 5 having thickness irregularities over all surface of the artificial veneer 2. Next, a stain 7 is coated on the surface of the coating 5 uniformly by using a sponge roll 6 or the like and, moreover, a transparent resin 8 such as a urethane polyester is coated on the stain coating to finish the surface thereof.
