Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate an easy access to the common memory, by deciding whether an access should be given to the local memory or the common memory according to the highest-rank bit of the address.
CONSTITUTION: The multiprocessor system 1 is formed by giving a connection among the processors 2 and 3, the common control part 4 and the common memory 5 each via the bus line S. And now, if the highest-rank bit is "0" for the address signal supplied from the processor 2, an access is given to the local memory of its own. And an access is given to the common memory 5 in the case of "1" respectively. The same procedure is also available to the processor 3. In such way, an easy access is possible to the common memory or the local memory. Accordingly, an access can be given easily to the common memory without any special access instruction or the DAM function given to the common memory.
