Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate disparity in the distribution of raw materials in the furnace top portion for stabilizing the conditions of the furnace in a manner that various kinds of raw materials are once stored in a common hopper and then charged into the blast furnace by means of a spiral chute in a spiral chute type raw materials charger for the blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:In a spiral chute type raw materials charger provided at the top of a blast surface, raw materials, e.g., iron ore, coke, quartz sand, etc., are separately stored in each of the exclusive hoppers 4, 5, and 6 for each raw material. Then, the valves 7, 8, and 9 of each hopper are opened to drop and store each raw material at a definite rate into the common hopper. Them, the valves 11 and 12 are opened to charge the raw materials into a blast furnace through the spiral chute 13 turning at a given inclined angle theta. Thereby, disparity in the distribution of raw materials in the furnace top portion due to the change with time of particle size distribution, the deposition condition, etc., of raw materials, caused by the wearing of the exclusive hoppers 4-6, can be eliminated, thus permitting the operation of blast furnace to be stabilized covering for a long length of time.
