Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the desulfurizing ratio and the alkali original unit together by controlling the pH of an absorbing liquid and the concn. of calcium chloride correctly in a wet lime and gypsum desulfurizing method using an absorbing liquid containing the lime component and calcium chloride.
CONSTITUTION: In the desulfurizing method using the slurry absorbing liquid containing the lime component such as calcium carbonate or calcium hydroxide as well as calcium chloride, when the pH of the absorbing liquid is as Y and the concn. of calcium chloride in the absorbing liquid is as Xwt/vol%, the pH of the absorbing liquid and the concn. of calcium chloride are adjusted so as to satisfy the formula -0.025X+4≤Y≤-0.1X+9. Then, the desulfurizing ratio is raised as the pH becomes high as well as the loss of an alkali is prevented by the presence of calcium chloride.
