Abstract
PURPOSE: An eraser, with excellent erasing properties for an oil-base ink handwriting and oil stain, composed of a base material, which is primarily composed of a resin and a plasticizer, and contains a microcapsule containing, as a core material, at least a hygroscopic inorganic powder, a surfactant and an organic solvent.
CONSTITUTION: An eraser, comprising a base material, which is primarily consists of about 30W45wt% of a resin (e.g., PVC) and about 25W50wt% of a plasticizer (e.g., dioctyl phthalate), and contains about 5wt% or less of a stabilizer (e.g., calcium stearate) and about 20wt% or less of a filler (e.g., calcium carbonate), and to which 15W20wt% of a microcapsule is added. Said capsule contains, as a core material, about 5W20wt% of a hygroscopic inorganic powder (e.g., sodium sulfate), about 0.2W5wt% of a nonionic and anionic surfactant and an organic solvent (e.g., 2-Ethoxyethyle acetate). The capsule wall is not destroyed by a pressure created when the eraser is formed but destroyed by a pressure created when the eraser is used, causing the organic solvent to ooze together with waste eraser.
