Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce windage loss and to obtain a ventilating and cooling device of a high cooling efficiency by a method wherein a blower is provided outside a housing corresponding to an air inlet on the housing and an air duct while leading cooling air from the air inlet to an inward radial direction. CONSTITUTION:Blowers 18 and 19 are arranged outside a housing 8 opposing to air inlets 9 and 10 located in vicinity of the upper and the lower sections of the housing 8, and a plurality of air ducts 21 and 22, extending individually to points on radial direction corresponding to the head of a salient-pole and magnetic pole 5 and facing to the inward radial direction from the air inlets 9 and 10, are provided. As a result, a swirling flow and a drifting flow generated in the vicinity of the air inlets are attenuated while passing through the air ducts, thereby enabling to reduce a windage loss and to increase a cooling efficiency.
