Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the tar trouble of a coke oven and to improve the efficiency of coal gasification, by collecting the tar in the hot gas exhausted from a coal gasification oven with cold particles, and circulating the tar-attached particles to the coal gasification oven.
CONSTITUTION: Hot gas produced by the gasification of coal in a coal gasification oven 1, is introduced into a cyclone 4 to separate the dust, and then introduced to a tar-collector 5 packed with cold particles. After the removal of tar, the gas is fed to a gas-purifacation tube 6 and the particles smeared with tar are recycled to the coal gasification oven 1, in which only the tar is gasified. The collector 5 mainly collects high-boiling tar to the particles.
