Abstract

PURPOSE:To make data communication and service possible with a simple constitution without addition of a special unit to the subscriber, by providing a decision timing circuit and a receiving level detecting circuit. CONSTITUTION:Subscriber C20 which has not a function to transmit the communication request signal is connected to exchange 1 of the telephone network having line 5 which connects exchange 1, network control unit 4, and subscriber B3 of exchange 1 which can not perform data communication, and further, data communication unit 7 is connected to exchange 1 by communication line 8 and control line 9. Receiving level detecting circuit 21 to detect the receiving level of communication line 8 is provided in circuit 11 for data communication of communication unit 7, and further, common control circuit 22 equipped with decision timing circuit 23 is provided which sets a time band when it is decided for the call from the telephone network whether the calling side aims as service or data communication. Thus, the receiving level is detected and displayed on service request display equipment 14 without addition of a special unit to the subscriber, and the telephone network can be utilized to perform data communication and service.
