CONSTITUTION:The synchronizing signal output from synchronizing separating part 13 of TV set 1 and the signal output from still picture operation key 6 are applied to control circuit 5, and the video signal in the synchronizing signal period is sampled and is converted to a digital signal by A/D converter and is stored in digital IC memory 3. After being read by a prescribed clock frequency and converted to an analogue signal, storage contents of memory 3 are sent to recording head 93 and are recorded on a magnetic tape. Then, the clock frequency is set to a frequency higher or lower than the sampling frequency to read storage contents of memory 3, and they are converted to an analogue signal by D/A converter 4 and are applied to Braun tube 18, thus expanding or contracting the picture to display it.
