Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an electric contact material with superior consumption resistance by adding a specified amount of at least one of Sn, Cd, Zn, In, Mn and Sb and a specified amount of Si to Ag followed by internal oxidation.
CONSTITUTION: To Ag are added 0.1W20wt% in total of at least one of 0.1W 20wt% each of Sn, Cd, Zn, In, Mn and Sb and 0.5W10wt% Si. The resulting starting material is melted and sprayed to from fine grains of ≤1mm diameter. The grains are then internally oxidized in an oxygen atmosphere at 760°C under 9 atm to obtain an Ag-oxide electric contact material.
