Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a mold by which a molded article having no residual internal stress is obtained, by forming at least one of the boundary surfaces of a cavity defined by split molds from a surface of a resiliently supported block or heat-proof resilient body.
CONSTITUTION: Within a cavity of a mold 10 consisting of, for example, a plurality of split molds 11a, 11b, 11c is supported the block 14 such as a lenticular hook silidably and resiliently by a spring 15. When a thermoplastic resin 17 melted and fluidized by heat is injected forcibly into this cavity, the block 14 is pushed down against the spring 15 (Fig. A) by the force of the pressure. After the completion of the injection, when cooled, the plastic 17 is contracted by the action of the spring 15 through the block 14 (Fig. B), and then is solidified (Fig. C) to form a molded article such as a lens.
EFFECT: When the molded article is used even as a power transmitting member, it will not be broken, or when it is used as an optical part, there will be no distortion in the transmitted light.
