Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the fault of a system, such as a nuclear reactor controller, accurately and rapidly by monitoring fluctuations of variable parameter PA of a model while making the PA of the model coincident with that of the system. CONSTITUTION:Fault detector 20 consists of PA identification device 2 and PA fault deciding device 3, and device 2 consists of the model of system 1 and a PA adaptation part. Device 2 receives input signal 1a to, output signal 1b from and state signal 1c of system 1 to identify PA of system 1, and transfers identified PA signal 2a to device 3. Device 3 having received signal 2a decides whether PA is normal or not and generates normalcy signal 3b when it is normal or fault signal 3a when not to display the state on display device 5 or 4. Consequently, the fault of the system can be detected accurately and rapidly in on-line mode.
