The liquid flowed out from the tanks 32, 33 is sent to a denitrifying tank 35, where the NO2-N, NO3-N in the liquid are converted to N2. The denitrifying activity in the tank 35 is extremely high. The produced N2 gas is circulated through a line 36 to agitate the inside of the tank. The liquid flowed out from the tank 35 is partly circulated from a line 37 into a line 31 and the rest is sent to a deaerating tank 38, where the N2 gas etc. stuck with the sludge are purged by the air from a line 39. Solid-liquid separation and concentration are carried out in a concentrating tank 40.
