Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase an engine output and decrease an amount of fuel consumed by a method wherein a two-dimensioal map for calcurating an aimed ignition time is made up base on two conditions of a first operating condition and the second operating condition of an engine, and the ignition time is controlled based on the two-dimensional map.
CONSTITUTION: A controlling computer 6 controls the ignition time by obtaining the rotation frequencies of the engine from time intervals of rotational angular signals produced in a rotary sensor 5 and by calcurating an intake manifold pressure from output signals of a pressure sensor 8 to make measurement of the operating condition of the engine. The controlling computer 6 makes up the two-dimensional map for calcurating the aimed ignition time on the basis of the two condition, of the 1st operating condition and the 2nd operating condition, lessening a correction rate mear the region highest in use frequency of the two-dimensional map than that in the region highest in the use frequency of the map and making the rate not to be uniform.
