Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the amount of heavy oil consumed in a heating system, by producing hot water by cooling reactor water at a nonregenerative heat exchanger in a reactor cooling medium purifying system, and feeding the hot water to a radiator.
CONSTITUTION: In order to heat air in a central control room for a reactor, hot water produced by cooling reactor water in a nonregenerative heat exchanger 4 is supplied to a radiator 6 installed in the control room, with a selector valve 7 being opened and a by-pass valve 8 being closed. Air in the control room is heated by ventilating heated air in the room by means of a fan 9. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to reduce the amount of heavy oil consumed in the heating system considerably as compared with the conventional systems in which heavy oil is used for producing hot water or steam for heating the room.
