Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase dust collecting efficiency and facilitate maintenance by a method wherein a discharge electrode and a dust collecting electrode are constituted by a plate like main part and a protruded part protruded so as to be directed to opposed electrodes and recessed and protruded parts are formed to opposed surfaces of both electrodes.
CONSTITUTION: A dust in a dust containing gas is charged by corona discharge from the discharge electrode 12 and adsorbed and collected to a surface of the dust collecting electrode 11 and the adsorbed dust is peeled and detached from the surface of the dust collecting electrode by a hammer or the like and collected in and discharged from a lower hopper. In this case, because recessed and protruded parts are formed on opposed surfaces of each electrodes 11, 12, the dust containing gas stream is bent by said recessed and protruded parts and mechanical collection, in addition to electrical collection, is also carried out. Further, a large amount of dust scattered again to a downstream side out of dusts peeled from the dust collecting electrode when said electrode is striken by a hammer or the like is mechanically collected from an eddy stream generated in recessed parts 11c, 12c of each electrode.
