Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain uniform magnetic field throughout the whole work aperture, by forming a highly inclined magnetic field by means of the magnetic fibers or particles and applying this to the work aperture. CONSTITUTION:The electrode 1 consisting of such nonmagnetic materials are copper, brass or graphite faces the workpiece 2 with a minute work aperture inbetween and perform arc discharge works. The magnetic iron core 4 is inserted in the hollow space formed in the electrode 1, and coils the magnetic coil 5 which generates magnetic flux. The magnetic fibers are inserted and fill the hollow space in the electrode 1. While the arc discharge works are performed, the magnetic field by means of the fibers 6, which consist of the fine wires and fibers with networklike disposition. This forms polarized magnetic field, which is generated uniformly on the whole surface of the electrode 1, and affects the whole space of the work aperture.
