Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically feed the front end of the strip material at high speed without putting the leveler mark in the strip material, by stopping the feeding action of the continuous feeder according to the detecting signal of the detector for the end of the strip material, and by pinching the end part of the strip material with the strip end pinching device.

CONSTITUTION: The strip material T coiled in the drum 1 is almost uncoiled and its tail end leaves the drum 1 and passes by the detector 13; the detector 13 detects the pass of the tail end of the material T, and slows down the feeding speed of the pinch roll 4. When the tail end of the material T passes by the detector 14, the roll 4 stops the feeding action, and firmly pinches the tail end of the material T. Then the intermittent feeder 5 feeds forward the front end of the material T, so that the bottom of the loop (t) gradually goes up and finally goes over the position of the detector 9b. As a result, the feed roll 6 slows down the intermittent feeding speed,; from this point, the press machine 7 operates intermittently starting by the feed end signal sent from the intermittent feeder 5. Further, if the bottom of the loop (t) goes over the position of the detector 9a, the feeder 5 stops the feeding action, and the cylinder 11 lifts the table 10 up to the horizontal position.
