Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the surfaces of blades from adhesion of deposit and thereby to prevent the machine from coming into the surging zone during operation by installing a sensor rod separably in a ring-shaped flow passage so as to monitor the condition of the adhesive deposit.
CONSTITUTION: A working fluid driven by an axial compressor is sucked into a ring-shaped conduit 3 from a suction port 8 and flows through the passage between a fixed rib 6, a stationary blade 2 and a moving blade 5 while its pressure is being boosted. Solids included in the working fluid such as dust adhere almost evenly to the sensor rod 9, fixed rib 6, stationary blade 2 and moving blade 5. Accordingly, monitoring the adhesive condition of solids on the sensor rod 9 will give estimated quantity of solids adhering to the moving and stationary blades in its lower flow course, and this information can well contribute to prevention of drop of the performance.
