Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove dust from the intake air of engine by the procedure in which the mechanical energy of engine mechanism is converted into high voltage by a piezo-electric element and the high voltage is applied onto discharge plate.
CONSTITUTION: When engine is started, the piston 15 and the connecting rod 20 move vertically to turn the crank shaft 16 and also to rotate the piezo-electric cam 22 connected with gear, whereby the tip 22a of the piezo-electric cam 22 pushes intermittently the surface of the piezo-electric element 13 to cause the piezo effect, or the transversal effect of piezo-electricity, of the piezo-electric element 13 to take place, thus resulting in the generation of a high voltage in the high-tension electric wires 9 and 10. By applying such a high voltage to the dust collection plate 6 and the discharge plate 7 provided to the cyclone-type dust collecting cylinder 1, dust present in the air can be removed.
