Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent fluctuation of temperature of hot water in a hot water boiler by varying a control gain of a control circuit for a control valve with an output from a flow rate sensor for use in detecting the flow rate of water flowing through a heat exchanger, whereby an optimum control gain with respect to the feed rate of hot water is obtained so that hunting of the boiler, which causes fluctuation of temperature of hot water, can be prevented.
CONSTITUTION: Water is introduced from a feed port 1, heated in a heat exchanger 2 and then supplied for use from a faucet 3. The temperature of hot water at an outlet of the heat exchanger 2 is detected by a sensor 7 and an output from the sensor 7 is input into a control circuit 8. In the control circuit 8, signals from the temperature sensor 7 and a flow rate sensor 9 are compared with a set value and amplified when the former are lower than the latter. Namely, the control circuit 8 is adapted such that, when the temperature of hot water is lower than a set level, the resistance value of the sensor is low so that an electric potential A is lower than an electric potential B to allow an operation amplifier 15 to output an amplified signal. Accordingly, the gain of the control circuit 8 is determined by a resistance ratio of a resistor 21 of the sensor 9. When the electric potential A is low, the electric potential of an output from the control circuit 8 becomes high so that the electric current flowing to a control valve coil is increased.
