Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent clogging at an orifice portion by a constitution wherein a liquid substance from which no solid matter will be formed is generated as droplets and an image is transferred onto recording paper through an intermediate body which exhibits transferability upon adhesion of the droplets. CONSTITUTION:A liquid substance (e.g. water) 1 from which no solid matter will be formed is pressurized by a pressurizing pump 6, and generated as droplets 2 from an orifice 4 by a piezoelectric element 8. The droplets 2 are given a constant electric charge, before passed between deflecting electrodes 14. The droplets 2 deflected by the electrodes 14 are adhered to an intermediate body 15 formed on its outside periphery with a carrier layer 16 of a substance (e.g. water-soluble dye) which exhibits transferability upon adhesion of the droplets 2. A character or image formed on the body 15 is transferred as a visible image onto recording paper 19 in contact with the body 15. EFFECT:Because of no formation of solid matter even upon evaporation, hence no clogging occurs at the orifce portion.
