Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a color video signal which never lowers vertical resolution while the mixing of the side-band signal of a horizontal synchronizing signal is eliminated, by providing a circuit with an arithmetic type comb line filter and switch circuit.
CONSTITUTION: A chrominance signal including the burst signal of BPF1 is supplied to subtraction type comb line filter 2 composed of delay line 3 for one horizontal period delay and subtracting mixer 4. Mixer 4 subtracts the output of delay line 3 from that of BPF1 to cancel the side-band signal of the horizontal synchronizing signal. Then, the output of this mixer 4 and that of BPF1 are alternated by switch circuit 5. Then, the luminance signal of LPF11 is supplied to synchronous separator circuit 6 to separate the horizontal synchronizing signal, which is applied to switching signal generating circuit 7, and circuit 5 is changed over by a switching signal over to a filter side 2 side in a burst signal section or to a filter 1 side if not. This output is passed through frequency converter circuit 16 and LPF17 to obtain a low- band converted chrominance signal.
