Abstract
PURPOSE: A sensitizing dye is dissolved in a mixture of solvents boiling at high and low temperatures and zinc oxide is mixed with the resulting solution, then the low- boiling solvent is evaporated, thus coating completely the particles of zinc oxide with the sensitizing dye.
CONSTITUTION: A sensitizing dye that is soluble in the first solvent boiling at low temperatures and insoluble in the second solvent boiling at high temperatures, for example, Rose bengal or Phloxine, is dissolved in a mixture of the first solvent as ethanol and the second solvent as isopar-H and zinc oxide is added to the resulting solution and kneaded. Then, they are heated to evaporate the low-boiling solvent and coat the particles of zinc oxide with the sensitizing dye.
EFFECT: This coating method coats each particle of zinc oxide separately with the sensitizing dye and dries them independently.
