Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the color shift by increasing the substantial width of circumferentical index stripe thereby increasing the index signal output.
CONSTITUTION: The width of index stripe 9 at central portion of fluorescent face 6 is selected to be Wc=0.25P(312 system) similarly with conventional index tube, while at the circumference it is selected to be P<Ws<0.5P. In other word the ratio between the width B of non-light emitting portion due to guard band 7 and the width of light emitting portion H due to fluorescent member stripes R, G, B is selected to be 0.5<B/H<1. Since the substantial width of index stripe 9 is increased, the index signal output is increased thereby the lowering of signal amount due to spot distorsion at the circumference can be compensated. Consequently the color shift due to the lowering of signal amount can be eliminated.
