Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the efficiency of separation of particles by lessening a reciprocating flow at the particle discharge portion by providing a projection by which to change the flow of gas in the particle blow-off portion.
CONSTITUTION: A gas with particles is flowed into the inlet 1 to form a swirl flow and the particles are directed downwards along the inner wall of the swirl chamber 2 by the resulting centrifugal force. The particles are then introduced to the particle discharge portion 4 and discharged to the outside from the opening 6a bored in the particle blow-off portion 5. The gas flow goes into the opening 6b again. The center of the particle blow-off portion is provided with the projection 15, by which gas flow toward the inner cylinder 3 from the swirl chamber is smoothly changed to prevent the inflow of the gas flow discharged to the outside with particles into the inner cylinder again, thus raising the efficiency of separation of particles.
